Who We Are

We are a family Organic farm focused on grain production located in south east Saskatchewan. Our farming roots date back to the 1700’s in Germany. 

How We Farm

At Wecker Farms our focus is on responsible and sustainable farming. That means we want to produce nutrient-dense food while having as little impact on the environment as possible. On our farm, that begins with the soil. Healthy soil contains a web of life including earthworms, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, arthropods and algae. In every process of growing our crops our goal is to optimize soil health and thus create healthier plants. We use tracks or wide tires to minimize compaction and low disturbance tillage equipment. We have a broad crop rotation that includes cover crops to add fertility and organic matter to the soil for the following year. We utilize high quality natural nutrient products, compost teas and bio-dynamic principles. In 2014 we began transitioning our farm to organic. Currently over half of our production is organic and our goal is to be 100% organic by 2020.
